Cost of ASA Laser Vision Correction in NYC

Our Pricing at Moskowitz Eye Care is 100% Transparent

No hidden charges or vague and confusing payment terms.

No convoluted “packages” with add-ons that ought to be included no matter what.

We also don’t upcharge like many NYC LASIK centers do just for being located in Manhattan. What you see is what you get!

Everything is included in this price – including all post-op consultations with Dr. Moskowitz himself.

We offer two types of ASA Laser Eye Surgery:

  • One is a regular ablation that corrects you exactly like your glasses and contact lenses do (to the nearest .25 of a diopter (D)) and will only correct for myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism.
This costs $4,600 for the two eyes total

  • The other is a more precise custom correction using Wavefront Guidance, which corrects you prescription to the nearest .01D and also corrects for multiple higher orders of aberration (causes of blurry vision). Think of it like you would a custom suit or dress compared to one bought off the rack.
This costs $5,600 for two eyes total

What about LASIK and PRK?

LASIK and PRK Laser Vision Correction in NYC usually costs between $2,000 and $3,000 per eye, depending on your prescription and the shape of your eye. ASA can be slightly more expensive than LASIK in particular because of the greater sophistication of the procedure.

Is Laser Vision Correction Covered by Insurance?

Unfortunately, corrective eye surgery is considered elective and not covered by insurance in almost all cases. Consider using a flexible spending account (FSA), health savings account (HSA), or financing through a credit union or bank to assist with payments. Specifically, you could try applying for a CareCredit credit card (see more below).

Are any Financing Options Available?

I accept CareCredit. Several patients have used this service to finance their ASA surgery. CareCredit is a credit card made to help people pay for out-of-pocket health and wellness expenses with more manageable monthly payments.

CareCredit pays Moskowitz Eye Care for the full cost of the procedure while you pay CareCredit back according to the terms and conditions you decide on (there are six, 12, or 18 month repayment options, for example).

This was my first time shopping for elective surgery. I met doctors selling snake oil and doctors selling medicine. Dr. Moskowitz is the real deal. Unlike other clinics, he made sure I got the right exams done for the surgery. It took a month to heal, but the results are totally worth it. Post-op care has been incredible. Craig called and texted to make sure I was doing okay. Between pre-op, surgery, and post-op, I feel like I got a bargain.

To summarize, ASA is similar to PRK Surgery with newer technology and methods. It eliminates the need to cut a flap by working directly on the surface of your cornea using excimer lasers to reshape the eye depending on your prescription. It’s a more refined version of PRK with less haze, scarring, post-op pain and a quicker recovery.
